This engine coupled to a type of frontal crash zone system could allow for "square" crash pulses for cars resulting in lower peak accelerations and lives saved. The frontal zone could also function as the airbag inflator tank and detection system eliminating much testing and complex design work needed on current cars, thus lowering costs dramatically. This could be a $5-10 billion business...
